Dealerships may drop off their paperwork with us and we will process it and call when the work is done.

Follow the instructions below and print a copy of all three forms listed below.

Dealership Web Access Instructions – This is an explanation of the forms required to request access to DVS ESupport (forms are listed below).

  • Dealership Web Application Agreement – This contract must be signed by the owner or officer of the dealership.
  • Dealership Individual Web Application Agreement – Each employee who will have ESupport access must complete this form. You are encouraged to photocopy as many forms as you need.
  • Dealership Individual Access Form – Indicate which information (screens) that your employees need to access, and provide an e-mail address for a contact person at the dealership. Usernames and passwords will be e-mailed to this account.

User-specific e-mail addresses must contain a personal name

Dealers requesting Web access must update their user profiles with an e-mail address that is user-specific. It must contain a personal or business name. Because passwords and DVS data are protected by statute (see DVS Data Privacy Page), these efforts verify that an e-mail address belongs to the authorized name on the ESupport account.

On January 1, 2010, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety began rejecting requests for ESupport password resets that do not contain an identifiable, user-specific e-mail address. Going forward, we will monitor and remove e-mail addresses that we find are not unique. Using an e-mail address not specific to the user, or that belongs to another person or business, is contrary to secure best practices and may result in loss of access privileges.

Acceptable forms of e-mail addresses may contain:

  • User’s name or initials, such as john.doe@123.net, johndoe.companyname@123.net or jd.companyname@123.net.

Unacceptable forms of e-mail addresses may contain, but are not limited to:

  • Generic to the organization (citypd@123.net)
  • Containing multiple names or sets of initials (johnshirleydoe@123.net or jdsd@123.net)
  • Nicknames (John Doe’s nickname of bigguy@123.net)
  • Using someone else’s e-mail address (John Doe using shirleydoe@123.net.)

To update your user profile with an appropriate dealer e-mail address, visit ESupport and click Dealers. Please continue providing current e-mail information on forms that you submit. If we do not have a valid e-mail address, you will not receive future publications of Dealer News (and the legal and policy changes contained inside).
